WAHINE's replacement completed by Swan Hunter at Walker in 1972.
She arrived on the Clyde in November 1977 in company with Bibby Line's STAFFORDSHIRE to lay up following the downturn in passengers on her service in New Zealand. This was taken in June 1978 but I can't remember if this was her second spell after she had been an accommodation ship at Loch Kishorn in the North of Scotland for oil rig construction workers.
She then went to the Falklands and following her spell there became QUEEN M for Mediterranean service, finally succumbing to Turkish breakers in 2005 as ALEXANDER THE GREAT.
