Once very familair in Northern European waters - a classic J.J. Sietas design: Built in 1971 by Sietas, Neuenfelde, Germany ( 665) as ''Hannes Knuppel'', 999 g.t. and 2,500 dwt. Many subsequent names until becoming ''Hannes'' in 2003. Now owned by a local (Gran Canarian) operator and frequently engaged in importing sand - as if we haven't got enough of the stuff.
