Lloyd Latino was a subsidiary of the French company Soci? G?rale de Transports Maritimes (SGTM). The vessels were owned by that company and were used in a joint operation of SGTM and Lloyd Latino. In Syra she was hit by salvoes from the Turkish cruiser Hamidiye, and was scuttled to avoid destruction. Although armed as an auxiliary cruiser she did not attempted a fight as she was caught with her steam engines shut. She was raised in a few weeks with her superstructure damaged by fire. The Dutch firm used her as a cargo ship in 1919-20 to carry grain from the US. National Greek Line's MACEDONIA of 1912. Sunk at Syra harbor in 1915, raised in 1916 and sold to the Dutch, where she was repaired at Rotterdam. Sold to Lloyd Latino in 1921, renamed PINCIO; scrapped in 1932.
