CARLO CAMELI is seen arriving at Le Havre on September 24th 1964; she had sailed from Mena Ahmadi on August 2nd 1964 bound for Fawley (UK) but was reported on 15th August as having suffered weather damage off the South African coast.
Named after the founder of the Cameli ship owning business in about 1913, at the time of launching, on January 4th 1964, CARLO CAMELI was the largest motor tanker in the world, when most tankers were turbine propelled.
She was sold in 1972 to the New York based Anthony Couloucoundis to trade as PACIFIC SEAHORSE but was laid up at Johore from August 25th 1976 until sent to Kaohsiung for breaking in September 1979.
