Almeria Star

The Blue Star Line reefer Almeria Star arriving Napier 12.4.81 to load frozen lamb for Iran. After two further visits, she was renamed Perth when Blue Star flagged her and sisters to the Hong Kong register in 1984 and Wallem took over management. She reverted to Almeria Star in 1988 when Blue Star took back management through Singapore subsidiary Austasia Maritime, then in 1990 was given another traditional company name - Avila Star. In the later nineties she was sold to Comninos of Greece and chartered back without change of name, even when Star Reefers took over the operation around 2000. In 2003 she was sold to German interests and renamed Ice Bell under the St. Vincent & Grenadines flag.
