BRITISH LIGHT

BRITISH LIGHT
Previous Next
She was built in 1959 in Italy.
In January 1974 when at anchor in the Firth of Clyde off Greenock following completion of the docking she was struck by the general cargo ship CAPTAYANNIS which had dragged her anchor in a gale.
BRITISH LIGHT was undamaged but CAPTAYANNIS settled on a sandbank and is still there for all to see today.
BRITISH LIGHT survived until 1975 when she went to Spanish breakers
