Ellermans received a lot of stick at the time for the spelling of their latest small - ian suffixed ship. She was built at Leith in 1968 and this was taken at Merklands Wharf in Glasgow in March 1969.
In 1974 she was renamed CITY OF ISTANBUL and FENCHURCH in 1978 when sold on. After a few more names I see from Miramar she is still sailing at least up to 2003 when she became SARA.
