Portuguese 2nd class sloop GONÇALO VELHO, 81,55m/ 1.435dt/ 18kn/ 2.000hp/ complement 147; 1932 completed by Hawthorn Leslie & Co, Newcastle, Armament: 3x120 guns, 2x40mm guns; 1946 she went to class frigate as NRP GONÇALO VELHO – F475; 1959 she was substantially modernized and armament increased 3x120mm guns, 2x40mm guns, 4 morteiros, 2xthrowers for depth charges; 1961 decommissioned. They were designed to operate in the overseas territories of Portugal. Sister ship NRP GONÇALVES ZARCO. F476/A5200-
