La Barcaza LST 92 "Rancagua, fue constru?da para la Armada de Chile por la Planta Industrial de Asmar de Talcahuano,de acuerdo a los planos de la Clase "Batral" de la Armada de Francia, previo convenio con el gobierno de dicho pa?s.

The Barge LST 92 Rancagua, was built for the Chilean Navy by Asmar Talcahuano, in accordance with the drawings of the Class "Batral" of the French Navy of France, previous agreement with the government of the above mentioned country.

Fue lanzada al agua el 26 de Septiembre de 1981.

She was launched the 26th of September of 1981

Actualmente la barcaza es uno de los principales medios con que cuenta la Armada para efectuar Operaciones Anfibias y transportar tropas de Infanter?a de Marina y servir , adem?s, para el transporte de carga y pasajeros, tareas que le han significado tener que navegar por todo el litoral, incluyendo las posesiones insulares de Isla de Pascua, Isla Sala y G?mez, Isla San F?lix y Archipi?lago Juan Fern?ndez.

At present the barge is one of the main means in which the Navy counts to carry out Amphibious Operations and to transport Marine troops and to serve, also, for the load transport and passengers, tasks that have meant to have to sail along the whole coast, including the insular possessions of Isla de Pascua, Isla Sala and G?mez, Isla San F?lix and Archipelago Juan Fern?ndez.
