The Liberty ship FIDES is seen anchored off Montreal in June 1961. She was wrecked on Grosser Vogelsand, River Elbe, on 20th January 1962, while on voyage from Corpus Christi to Gdynia with a cargo of iron ore, after colliding with the wreck of the British vessel ONDO which had run aground on 6th December 1961.
