The Fernbank appears to have been a 'one off' in the fleet of Fearnley & Eger when delivered by Eriksberg in 1955. Powered by an 8 cylinder B&W she had a speed of 17.8 knots, which was fast for the day. She was under repair in Hong Kong on 17 August 1971 when typhoon 'Rose' struck and was driven aground NE of Lantau Island. She was refloated a month later but was a CTL and broken up at Kaohsiung.
