One for Barnsey, the Erne sailing from Bluff in 1984 bound for Kaohsiung and a date with the breakers. Completed for Nourse Line in 1962 by Charles Connell, the usual Nourse Line builder, management was transferred to Trident Tankers the following year. In 1970 she was converted at Singapore to carry bitumen and thereafter served on the New Zealand coast until her departure from Bluff seen here. She was 20,090 dwt tons and steam turbine powered.
