A memory of the LASH-Lighter Aboard SHip vessels which used to anchor at Gravesend regularly, the barges being taken to inland destinations by tug; a concept that seemed to die out.
Lykes Lines ran a few of these ships and this is TILLIE LYKES at Gravesend in 1977.
