UNION MELBOURNE |
The UNION MELBOURNE passes the Pencarrow lighthouse as she heads into the entrance to Wellington Harbour. The Ship was chartered by the Union Steam Ship Co, for their Trans - Tasman cargo service. The charter was for a five year period in 1975 but a lack of cargo caused her to be withdrawn from service in 1978. Union Co, then sub-chartered the vessel to P&O for their Fleetwood - Belfast service until the original charter expired in 1980. |
